Cercis siliquastrum

Judas Tree, Mediterranean Redbud

A pleasing specimen tree known for its prolific deep-pink spring flowers and distinctive heart-shaped green leaves.

Features: Prolific deep-pink flowers in spring. Pretty heart-shaped leaves.
Applications: Gardens, parks, streetscapes, screening.
Description Suitable for a range of situations, the Judas tree is a welcome addition to any garden or landscape. It can be shaped to a single-stemmed tree or to a more shrub-like multi-stemmed plant. Because of the width of its growth habit, the tree can be seen in areas like Fremantle planted in a row as a light screen to walls or in the corners of walled gardens as a companion plant, but it can also be used in larger properties, parks, streetscapes and avenues.
