Features: Hardy. Tolerant of harsh sites. Green canopy through summer.
Applications: A great street tree. Shade tree. Urban environments. Parks, gardens, lawns.
Description With a tolerance of hot dry summers, urban environments, exposed sites and various soils, the Desert Ash is a versatile tree. Useful as a street tree or a shade tree in parks and gardens, its pleasing canopy remains green through summer, yellowing a little for autumn. Deep roots also make it suitable for lawned sites.

Canopy: Rounded, loosely symmetrical. Moderately dense shade (seasonal).
Growth rate: Fast
Cautions: Invasive potential for native vegetation!! Plant only in appropriate sites. Will not tolerate wet sites.
Tolerances: Hot, dry summers. Drought tolerant. Urban conditions - air pollution. Poor soils. Alkaline soils.
Sun demands: Best in full sun
Soil demands: Will thrive on nutritious soils but tolerates any well-drained soils, including alkaline.
